Would you like to know where the cold seeps into your home and learn some practical ways to make your home warmer, healthier and more energy efficient?
You can do this by hosting a Home Energy Party. With guidance from an air-tightness expert and staff from People Powered Retrofit, you, your friends and neighbours will learn together.
An event will take 2 – 2.5 hours for up to 9 guests.
It will include:
- Group Activities: Together, participants will search for draughts and cold spots, learning to recognise signs of energy inefficiency.
- Energy Tips & Demos: Through air-tightness demonstrations and sharing best practices, everyone will leave with practical tips on how to tackle common issues.
- Q&A Discussions: There will be time to ask questions, explore solutions, and get professional advice on next steps for making homes more efficient.
This interactive, hands-on experience is designed to encourage learning and connection, giving everyone a chance to engage with the ideas and leave with practical takeaways for a cosier, more sustainable home. There’s a nice write up of a session here.
South Manchester Credit Union has teamed up with People Powered Retrofit because we’re committed to learning what works for people. Their RenoCOOP project aims to make home renovations simpler, smarter and more community-driven. Our role is to find 3 homeowners to host a Home Energy Party over winter. We’re particularly looking for houses that are typical in your area and ideally a home that needs retrofit, such as a Victorian home, pre-1919.
