What is the importance to you of being environmentally friendly?
“It should be important to everybody. We need to be looking after the planet. We need to repair the damage we’ve done, and we all need to be thoughtful about it, making sure that we are all doing the right thing”
What did you use your Green Loan for?
“I replaced my front door and back door because they were inefficient”
How has this positvely impacted your life?
“It’s reduced my outgoings as well as the benefits for the environment by making my house more thermally efficient, reducing my bills”
What other options did you think of to complete your retrofit before getting a Green Loan?
“We did apply for a grant from the Government, but didn’t qualify for the grant, so it was going to have to be funded ourselves. The credit union was as good a place, or if not better, than anywhere to get the loan from”
Why did you choose us?
“I feel that by using a credit union, we’re giving something back to the local community and helping other people who perhaps aren’t as financially secure as us”
What is your advice to those who want to become more environmentally friendly?
“It’s probably not even advice. Whatever you can do, just do it; you do not need to be advised; it is the right thing to do!”
