Honouring our credit union pioneers

This month we celebrated the pioneer members who helped shape South Manchester Credit Union. These hard-working volunteers were treated to a well-deserved afternoon tea at Cloud 23 to honour their dedication to help the credit union reach its 21st birthday.

South Manchester Credit Union started as a purely volunteer-run organisation. Thanks to their involvement, we now support 4500 people in our community.

35 pioneers attended the event, reminiscing and sharing their stories. It was great to hear about the early days – opening accounts in a small room at the back of Christ Church, to running the collections points all year round – it is clear to see how far the credit union has come.

“Thank you for a great party which I will remember with pleasure for a long time”
